BALPPA member parks welcome visits by disabled people and will do all possible to ensure a safe and pleasurable stay. However, certain rides and attractions in our parks can be physically demanding and vigorous. We therefore reserve the right to refuse admission to certain rides should we feel there is a danger to a particular individual or individuals for whatever reason. We have been advised by the Health & Safety Executive that refusal on grounds of health and safety does not constitute discrimination. We do hope that you understand and accept the decisions made in the interests of your safety.
This guide has been compiled to ensure that you can get the most from your day here at Drayton Manor. All of our rides have information boards located at the entrances. It is the guest’s responsibility to observe and obey any and all instructions on the boards and within this guide before entering the ride.
Unfortunately, not all rides are suitable for all visitors and each has strict operating requirements, which our staff have to follow for health and safety reasons. Please do not ask staff to break these rules; they are there for YOUR safety and for the safety of OTHERS. Your safety is our prime concern and, consequently, the Company reserves the right to refuse admission to a ride if we feel that your safety or the safety of others may be at risk. On arrival at the access point to a ride, please contact a member of the ride staff for assistance.
Important Information
Please note that due to the health and safety of riders and staff, all riders of Stormforce 10 and Shockwave must be able to walk up and or down flights of stairs. These rides due their nature go to a high height and the only way of recovery in case of breakdown is by walking down gantry stairs.
These steps are lengthy and may be slippy and difficult to negotiate by ambulant disabled visitors and only fully ambulant walkers will be permitted to use the rides.
We ask that you follow all guidelines set out in this book, observe any and all instructions that may be given by a ride operator as well as any and all ride restrictions and / or instructions. These rules are for your own comfort and safety as well as those around you. If you have to use an exit to access a ride we point out the guest with the disability MUST ride in order to take advantage of the special accommodations. If the guest with the disability chooses not to ride, their party MUST WAIT in the attraction queue line. Please also note that only a maximum of four / five people will be allowed up the exit at any one time. If there is already a party waiting you must wait until they have ridden and left the exit before entering the exit.
Some guests may be concerned that they are unable to queue for long periods. In these cases we recommend using a wheelchair - these are available form the rental point at Main Entrance.
We have a small number of wheelchairs available for hire. These are subject to a hire fee and deposit and are available on a first come first served or booking basis.
