Boomer Balls for the tigers

Boomer Balls for the tigers

After winning the zoo's quarterly enrichment competition the cat keeper Alan Carter chose to spend the prize money on buying Boomer Balls for the animals on his section. The cat section includes Tigers, Black Leopards and Lynx as well as a number of smaller cats.

They were an instant hit with the Tigers who spent most of the morning bashing them around. Alan Carters comments:

" It was great to watch them have so much fun, it is a simple form of enrichment but effective!"

Meerkats Named!

Meerkats Named!

Our two latest additions to the Meerkat mob were born on 4th May 2010. The two cheeky youngsters can be seen in Meerkat Manor digging and foraging with the rest of the group.

Their keeper Debbie Downs has named the pair Abena and Samir. They are both African names meaning: “Born on Tuesday” and “Companion” respectively.
