In true family spirit, Poppy, the Capybara celebrates her first Mother’s Day with her three newborn babies at Staffordshire’s Drayton Manor Park.

At the request of Drayton’s much-loved mum, three of the six members of the Capybara clan posed for their family picture whilst enjoying a day in the sunshine at Drayton Manor Zoo. A crowd favourite and some of Drayton’s beloved furry friends, Capybara are the world’s biggest rodent and are related to the guinea pig family.

Head of Zoo Operations at Drayton Manor Park, Chris Mitchell comments: ‘’We are so pleased to announce the three new additions to the Capybara family at Drayton Manor Zoo. Just as we’ve experienced with our growing Capybara family, these animals tend to share the responsibility of caring for the young amongst the group and its been wonderful to witness.
