As the days get warmer, and with spring almost in our grasp, Staffordshire based Drayton Manor Theme Park is encouraging families and friends to have a fun filled day during Whit Week.

The park’s onsite 15 acre zoo is home to over 100 species from all around the world and will this year see the arrival of new African grey parrots and the Tamarin Trail, which will see guests walk through beautiful planted gardens and get up close and personal with the cute and inquisitive monkeys. There will be eight new enclosures housing a variety of tamarins and marmosets. There are five species so far, including the white lipped tamarin, red handed tamarin, emperor tamarin, cotton top tamarin and the common marmoset.

Love Your Zoo Week will also be taking place from 28th May – 4th June, which will feature lots of exciting activities for children, including animal arts and crafts and animal balloon modelling. These activities will take place daily between 10am and 4pm and anyone looking to get involved will just need to head down to the Discovery Centre in the zoo on the day of their visit.

The family owned and run attraction is also home to Europe’s only Thomas Land™, which last year underwent a huge £2.5million expansion, and is now bigger and better than ever. New attractions include Flynn the Fire Engine, who is equipped with on-board hoses so riders can help to put any fires out, and Captain’s Sea Adventure, which introduces not one, but six rotating Captain lifeboat carriages, all complete with their own cannons to squirt water. Visitors can also enjoy Toby’s Tram Express and the new Sodor Airport Terminal which boasts a top level balcony for VIP ‘travellers’ with not-to-be-missed views of Thomas Land.

There’s also lots for thrill seekers, as Drayton Manor features some of the biggest, wettest and scariest rides around! Such as, the drop tower, Apocalypse, stand up coaster, Shockwave, and Maelstrom, the only gyro swing to make you face outwards. And not to mention Stormforce 10, the water ride which features a reverse chute drop.

Little ones can also head over to the 4D Cinema for an adventure with Yogi Bear, filled with special effects that give a memorable experience for all.

There’s no denying that a day at Drayton Manor can be exhausting, so when visitors need to recharge their batteries they can head over to the Grill Inn, which is open daily and serves up some tasty dishes to satisfy hungry mouths.

Those looking to extend their visit can book an overnight stay at the 150 bedroom 4-star Drayton Manor Hotel, which features 15 Thomas & Friends™ themed rooms, executive rooms and presidential suites sure to give you a comfortable night’s sleep. Enjoy all the fun and comfort at a fraction of the cost by taking advantage of Drayton Manor’s great Stay and Play deals available throughout the year*. This includes a one-night stay at the Drayton Manor Hotel with a full English breakfast, free Wi-Fi and car parking on site, plus one ticket per person into Drayton Manor Theme Park.*

Families can bunk down in a Thomas room Stay and Play Package in their very own Thomas themed bunk bed, each complete with its own television and Thomas & Friends DVD.
