Don’t let the rain keep you away—there’s plenty of fun to be had at Thomas Land, even through the winter months! With one of our favourite events happening through the colder season, Magical Christmas; we can still host the best family day out, even if there is a smattering of snow upon the ground!

Indoor fun
There’s a variety of rides and attractions that are located indoors, so in case you want to warm up after being out in the Winter frost, don’t worry—you’ll still find plenty of things to do. One of our favourites is Emily’s Play Adventure: your little ones can scramble up and down to their heart’s content in this incredible themed play barn! The kids will be thrilled to play with Thomas the Tank engine and all his friends on their day out to Drayton Manor Park—and the best part is, it’s all in the dry!

Covered rides
Even if the weather is feeling a little bit chilly or might be on the wet side, Drayton Manor Park has its fair share of covered rides that can be enjoyed on a winter day out. Thomas and friends take shelter from the rain on Winston’s Whistlestop Tours: an amazing monorail journey high above Thomas Land. You and your family can have all kinds of fun pointing out the various attractions, seeing the sights, and probably spotting an engine or two: prize for the first person to see Thomas the Tank Engine!

Catch a film
Drayton Manor Park is home to all kinds of different attractions, including our very own indoor 4D cinema! 4D—what’s that? You can forget boring old 3D vision; this amazingly immersive experience plunges you into the world of the film! Get ready to be surprised: it isn’t just your eyes that will be entertained in this immersive theatrical event.

At Christmas time, your winter family day out can include a 4D viewing of The Polar Express, specially abridged for the Drayton Manor Park 4D cinema experience.

Top tip!
Remember to wrap up warm for your winter days out: hat, scarf, and a big, warm, woolly jumper are all advised! But if the rain does catch you out, then don’t worry too much. You can always buy a splash mac from one of Drayton Manor’s many shops.

Festive nights
Who’s the most special guest of all to come to Drayton Manor Park for their family day out? Well, apart from YOU, of course! Father Christmas takes up residence in the Castle of Dreams in Thomas Land’s truly Magical Christmas experience, on selected dates until 31st December. With guaranteed snowfall forecast for the Island of Sodor, we can promise you a white Christmas for your winter day out at Drayton Manor Park! Join us to make Christmas arts and crafts, marvel at the gorgeous Christmas lights and fantastic tree, and finish off the day with a nightly firework display. Are you feeling festive yet?

A trip to the zoo

Although there are some outdoor enclosures, you can also find covered areas to enjoy in the winter months.
