Our People

Keith - Ride Manager

I first joined Drayton Manor Theme Park in 1989, where I worked within The Cedar Fish and Chip Shop. I only planned to stay for one Summer season, but at the end of the season I was offered a full time position within the stores department. In the early 90's I moved to the rides department and within a short time, I was fully trained to operate all of the attractions. This included some long since retired attractions from Drayton Manor Theme Park: the Para Tower, Octopus, Python Coaster, Jungle Cruise and Log Flume.

Over the years I have seen many changes within the theme park and have been lucky enough to work for the company during a period that has seen large investments on new and innovative attractions. In a lot of cases, these investments have been the first of a kind in the UK.

I have progressed from Ride Operator to Ride Supervisor, to my current position as Ride Manager. Within my current position I am responsible for planning all lifting operations within the park, which has resulted in me gaining an NVQ Level 5 Diploma (Blue CPCS Card).

I am extremely proud to be a part of the team here at Drayton Manor Theme Park, with an ethos of “Family run, for family fun”.

Gavin - Chef de Partie, Drayton Manor Hotel

I started working at Drayton Manor Hotel in October 2011 as a Kitchen Porter. I currently hold the position of Chef de Partie.
Drayton Manor have supported my development through on the job training, and put me through my NVQs in professional cookery.

I find Drayton Manor to be a great company to work for, and would recommend them to anyone looking to pursue a career within the catering industry.

Kate - Park Control Officer

I've worked at Drayton Manor Theme Park for the past nine seasons and just love it; the environment and the people. Due to the flexibility of the hours that I can work, I have completed my university degree during that time. Not only that, I have also had the chance to develop within my role. I love to be a part of the whole experience, develop ideas and people, so I am now a member of the customer champion group; where I get to have a say and feedback on park matters.

It's great to develop ideas and have a say on areas across the park, and really make a difference.

Michael - Guest Host, Rides

After years of working within the car and catering trade, it was hard for me to decide what to do next. I felt too old to start something new but after speaking to the HR staff here at Drayton Manor Theme Park, I felt I'd give it a go and I'm glad I did as I absolutely love it.

The team is made up of a whole array of ages, which makes coming to work a pleasure but I must say that the most enjoyable aspect of my job, is seeing the childrens faces day in day out. I'm part of making that magical memory here at Drayton Manor Theme Park and you cannot put a price on that.

Beverley - Guest Engagement Manger

After a successful career with the National Express as their Contact Centre Manager and General Manager for Coach stations, I left to join Trophystore.Co.Uk as their Commercial Director. Following redundancy, I valued some quality time out with my children before embarking on looking for a new role.

For me it was imperative that I joined an organisation that provided the opportunity to make a difference commercially and strategically. It was also imperative that I joined an organisation that provided something special, that I had valued and experienced at National Express – the nature of the people. Hence, when I saw the Guest Engagement Manager role at Drayton Manor Theme Park, I was compelled to apply. I was delighted to be given the opportunity to join the organisation and I am really pleased that I chose to do so, as I’m thoroughly enjoying my new role.

Jon - Catering

I started working at Drayton Manor Theme Park in 2008 when I was seventeen, it was a fantastic opportunity to work for a prestigious company in the Leisure industry. The advantage of working for Drayton Manor Theme Park from a young age was that it gave me the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, with the flexibility to continue with my education.

Whilst working for three years as a Guest Host, I was also able to complete a food safety course courtesy of Drayton Manor. I was pleased when I was given a promotion to become a Duty Team Leader. After being a Duty Team Leader for four years, I was pleased again when I applied for the Team Leader role and was successful. It shows that the management recognised the potential in my ability, knowledge and initiative.

Now I am a full time permanent member of staff, who now runs one of the busiest food outlets in the park. I am glad I chose to work for Drayton Manor Theme park because the job is enjoyable, the staff are brilliant and if you are experienced and willing to learn, then the progression from a Guest Host seasonal worker to a full time permanent worker is an enjoyable path to take.

Had a fantastic time Saturday (2/4/16) for my husband and daughters birthday day out, and I just want to say how polite and friendly your staff are, every ride my daughter went on your staff noticed her badge and wished her a happy birthday and told her to enjoy her day!

Laura - Park Visitor 2017 (2 Apr 2016)
