Terms & Conditions

  • Please take note of the age restrictions for your chosen experience. We reserve the right to terminate an experience should it become evident that the minimum age restriction has not been adhered to, on the grounds of health and safety. No refunds will be given in this instance.  There is no maximum age limit. 
  • Participants will need to be reasonably fit and fully mobile in order to participate.
  • The cost of the experience covers park entry for the participants only. Any spectators must purchase a separate park entry ticket.
  • Once booked, experiences are non-refundable. Experiences must be paid for upon booking. 

Health and Safety

  • Whilst every effort is made to accommodate everybody, we regret to inform you that some guests may be unable to take part. If you have any specific medical needs or allergies, or require 1 to 1 care or support, please let us know prior to or at the time of booking. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals who are immunocompromised, pregnant or have epilepsy, known allergies or mobility issues.
  • A safety briefing will be delivered before your experience begins. It is critical to the health and well-being of you, our staff, and our animals that all instructions are followed. We reserve the right to terminate any experiences where attendees do not follow the safety instructions. No refunds will be given in this instance.
  • Animal welfare is of the utmost importance to us. Should it become evident that animal welfare is being impacted by the experience, we reserve the right to terminate it. No refunds will be given in this instance.
  • We cannot always guarantee that our animals will want to take part in an experience, and they cannot be forced to do so.
  • All participants will be expected to wash their hand after the experience.
  • No open toed shoes will be allowed during any experience. Participants must wear closed toe footwear that is suitable to walk through 1 inch of disinfectant, as all encounters involve the use of foot dips for biosecurity purposes.
  • Food is not allowed to be consumed during the experience. You may keep a bottle of water in certain areas.
  • Participants should not eat any of the food that is being prepared for the zoo animals, including fruit and vegetables, as they are stored in the animal kitchens.
  • If you have a contagious illness, such as flu or coronavirus, we ask that you do not attend the experience. This is to reduce the risk of the illness being passed onto staff, and our animals, as many are particularly vulnerable to human viruses and diseases.
  • We ask that our participants do not rush any of the activities, as this could lead to mistakes and injury. Always ask for help if you cannot remember how to do an activity properly or are unable to complete it.
  • Do not try to touch or hold any of our animals.
  • Never enter an animal enclosure without permission, or any other non-public area of the zoo unless you are with the experience leader.
  • All zoo animals can carry diseases that can infect humans. However, good hygiene practices can prevent transmission, such as thoroughly washing both hands and arms before and after experiences and wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as gloves, masks, and overalls. We ask that participants who have a medical condition that increases their risk of illness from an encounter inform us prior to booking and arrival.
  • The zoo will provide you with any essential PPE you will need for any given task. All protective gloves, masks and other equipment provided must be used and all instructions given by staff must be followed at all times.
  • In the case of an emergency, participants must listen to the instructions given by the keepers, or another Drayton Manor Resort staff member if they become separated from the group.
  • We recommend that individuals wishing to participate in experiences are vaccinated against tetanus.
  • By attending the experience, you agree that you will not hold Drayton Manor Resort responsible for any illness or injury you obtain by neglecting to follow our safe working practices, as directed by the keepers or staff members on the day, hygiene practices as outlined above, and our Terms and Conditions in general. Additionally, by attending you confirm that you understand the risks posed by attending the experience and are not at an increased risk to injury or illness. 

General

  • You will always be supervised by the zoo staff.
  • Phones may be kept on your person during the experience, but we ask that if you would like to take photographs, you ask your experience leader to do this for you. 
  • Drayton Manor Resort takes no responsibility for any personal property that is lost, damaged or stolen whilst on the premises.
  • We reserve the right to change the activities at the last minute due to animal welfare, weather, and other reasons.
  • We reserve the right to cancel the experience in the event of extreme circumstances but will always reschedule in this instance.
  • We are aware that lateness can occur due to traffic etc. If you are aware that you will be late for your experience, it is vital that you inform us by calling 01827 284737.
  • If you are unable to attend the experience for any reason, please telephone 01827 284737 in advance of the experience before 9:30am on the day and let us know. If we do not pick up, please leave a message with your details and the reason why. No refund will be given in this instance.
  • Our experiences may not be suitable for people that suffer with an allergy to fur, feathers, dust or animal bedding.
  • Any data that you supply us will not be supplied to third parties. It will be stored securely and will only be used by Drayton Manor Resort.
  • If any photographs or videos are taken, with your permission granted, they may be used for publicity and advertising.
  • We expect participants to behave sensibly and carefully, listening to any instructions given by the keeper and performing activities as directed. We take no responsibility for any injury or illness that occurs due to unavoidable accidents, or inappropriate behaviour including, but not limited to, not following instructions correctly. All participants must take responsibility for their own health & safety.
  • If you’re disrespectful or cause any disturbances to guests and staff, endanger yourselves and others, or disregard animal welfare, you will be asked to leave the park immediately. You will also be refused attendance on any further experiences. No refund will be given in this instance.
  • Other reasons that you may be refused attendance or not be permitted to attend your experience include but are not limited to: failure to wear the appropriate clothing; not receiving payment in advance of the experience; and not revealing on prior to booking a condition that affects your ability to participate safely in the experience.
  • Participants must only use equipment in the way it is intended and as instructed.
  • There is to be no consumption of alcohol or taking drugs while attending the experience. Smoking is only acceptable during the lunch hour and in one of our designated guest smoking areas. We reserve the right to cancel an experience if a participant is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No refund will be given in this instance.
  • If one of our participants spots a potential hazard, such as a fire or broken equipment, they must inform staff immediately.
