Accessibility at Christmas Wonderland
Selected dates between 22nd November - 31st December
We’re committed to making this year’s Christmas Wonderland at Drayton Manor a joyful and accessible experience for everyone. Whether you or your family member has sensory, physical or learning needs, here’s how we’re supporting you.
To make the magic truly accessible, we offer a dedicated SEND Grotto, peaceful Quiet Zones, Quiet Mornings, a daily Quiet Quest, and fully wheelchair-accessible routes, so every guest can enjoy the sparkle and joy of Christmas at their own pace.
Booking Information
If you are a Nimbus card holder with a +1 Essential Companion symbol and need your companion to attend with you, please follow these steps. Book your ticket as usual, including any experiences you want to enjoy. Email our Guest Services team with your order number and the times of any experiences you have booked so our team can add them onto your booking. On the day of your visit, go to the ticket office with your Nimbus card to redeem your companion’s park entry ticket.
Dedicated SEND Christmas Grotto
We have created a separate grotto session especially for guests with additional needs, including those with SEN / SEND requirements. This Grotto offers:
- A calmer, quieter setting with reduced sensory stimuli.
- Extra time with Father Christmas so children aren’t rushed through.
- Fully wheelchair accessible.
This Grotto is situated next to Mrs Kyndley’s Café in the Zoo and can be reached either by a short walk through the Zoo or via the Thomas Land train.
Quiet Mornings
To help guests who prefer a gentler start to the day, we are offering Quiet Mornings on 1st, 8th & 15th December, until 1pm.
On these dates, the park will operate with reduced sound levels, no music, and minimal tannoy announcements, creating a more relaxed environment so everyone can enjoy the rides and attractions in comfort.
Whether you or a loved one are autistic, neurodivergent, or simply prefer a quieter atmosphere, these mornings offer a welcoming way to experience the park at your own pace.
Quiet Quest
Go on an adventure around Thomas Land at your own pace. At each stop, look out for a friendly symbol and a big, colourful letter - each one will help you uncover a secret word! Tick off the symbols and collect the letters as you go, then unscramble them at the end to reveal the hidden Thomas Land word.
Once you’ve completed the trail, bring it to the Thomas Land Shop to collect your special Thomas’ Quiet Quest prize.
Ride Accessibility
This Christmas, enjoy more rides open than ever before as Gold Rush, The Wave, Maelstrom and many more join the festive fun alongside all your favourites in Thomas Land, making it our biggest and most exciting Christmas yet!
Download our Ride Accessibility Guide to learn which attractions are accessible, so you can plan your visit with confidence.
Quiet Zones & Calm Spaces
We understand that sometimes the hustle and bustle of the park can feel overwhelming, so if you’re looking for a peaceful escape from the festive rides and experiences, our zoo is the perfect spot.
Wander among the animals at your own pace, enjoy the natural surroundings, and take a moment to breathe in the fresh air.
