We offer internships in our Zoo, providing hands-on experience in animal care and conservation. Ideal for students who are pursuing animal-related qualifications or have graduated. Placements are available with primates, birds, mammals, LVI and more. We encourage interested candidates to check back closer to the application period for details on how to apply.
Drayton Manor Zoo welcomes collaboration with academic, zoological, and professional research institutions. We actively support and conduct research that enhances captive animal management, benefits conservation programs, and contributes to scientific knowledge about animals and their natural habitats.
Our research includes both animal-based studies and visitor studies. Animal-focused research may explore behaviour, welfare, nutrition, husbandry, enrichment, ecology, reproduction, and conservation. All studies conducted at the zoo are non-invasive and primarily based on observation.
