Now that the summer holidays are in their final weeks it’s time to make the most of it and book a family trip to the theme park. Luckily for stressed-out parents everywhere, there is one place guaranteed to keep the children busy, entertained and, most importantly, happy: Thomas Land™! Located here in one of the UK’s most popular theme parks, Thomas Land™ is a fun-filled attraction perfect for fans of the iconic children’s series.

With a whole host of amazing kids’ rides and adventure around every corner, Thomas Land™ is the perfect choice for young children – and those young-at-heart adults too. Bring the kids along for a great day out to meet the gang, including Thomas, Diesel, Bertie and Toby – and not forgetting The Fat Controller, of course!

What to do at Thomas Land™

With over 25 rides and attractions, Thomas Land™ really caters for every member of the family. From kids’ roller coasters to soft play areas, there is plenty to guarantee that toddlers can have just as much fun as their big brothers and sisters. While height restrictions apply to many of our rides, little ones are allowed on with a parent – and we think most adults secretly love getting close to their favourite Thomas & Friends™ characters too!

First up, climb on board Bertie Bus to enjoy a bumpy, crazy journey with him. Next, pay Captain a visit and sail the seas with him on Captain’s Sea Adventure. After the sea comes the sky – kids will love shooting into the air with Jeremy Jet’s Flying Academy, and seeing Thomas Land™ from new heights in Harold’s Helicopter Tours.

For the mini adrenaline junkies, Thomas Land™ is home to an exciting kids’ roller coaster, the 220 metre-long Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster, which will whizz kids and parents around and get everyone having fun. If you’re feeling adventurous, take on the Cranky Crane – beware of the bounce! After an exciting ride on Toby’s Tram Express, it might be time for a break. If your little ones are too small for kids’ roller coasters, try more gentle rides such as Lady’s Carousel and the Blue Mountain Engines – they’re perfect for younger children. You can even take one of Sodor’s Classic Cars out for a spin!

Away from the rides, there are plenty of other attractions for the kids and adults to enjoy. The Discover Thomas Exhibition, located at Farmer McColl’s farm, is a wonderful way to get up close to your favourite Thomas & Friends™ characters. This fascinating exhibition includes the original Thomas the Tank Engine™ set and characters used for filming the hit TV series, making this is a must for new fans of Thomas as well as their parents! And don’t forget about Emily’s Adventure Play, where kids can let off some steam while the adults have a break.

If you have older children with you, or just want to pack as much as you can into your family day out, remember that Thomas Land™ is just one small part of Drayton Manor Park. Once you’ve had fun on the kids’ roller coasters and you’ve met Thomas, why not enjoy rides such as Shockwave, Apocalypse and Stormforce? On top of this, there are also attractions such as the Dino Trail and Crazy Golf. Oh, and did we mention there’s a zoo..?

Where to stay when visiting Thomas Land™

Thomas Land™ is an amazing place for a fun day out with the children, but with so much to do and see, many of our guests find that they can’t pack everything into one day! If you would like to extend your stay, Drayton Manor has an on-site four-star hotel, perfect for visitors. And the great news for visitors to Thomas Land™ is that there are now 15 Thomas & Friends™ themed rooms, so the magic can carry on into the evening. Themed bunk beds, individual DVD players and a welcome pack await the youngsters staying in these rooms – they’re the perfect way to unwind after a busy day on the Island of Sodor. In the morning, guests can even enjoy a special Character Breakfast with characters from the series!
